The straightening technology of steel rail

There are three kinds of technology for straightening of kinked rail, pressure straightening technology, roller straightening technology and drawing straightening technology.

Pressure straightening technology is low speed, only used to make supplementary straightening to rail. The conventional straightening technology of rail is mainly adopted roller straightening technology. In the roll straightening, there is a large deformation and a small deformation. The steel rail can be straightened with less straightening rolls, but the residual stress of the steel rail is usually greater. It needs more straightening roll to adopt small deformation straightening, but the residual stress of the rail is small. It has been proved that there are two defects in modern roller straightening process: One is that the residual stress of the rail will be large, and the excessive residual stress will threaten the safety of the train and reduce the life of the rail. Secondly , the roller technology is unable to straightening the each rail ends, in order to guarantee the straighness of the end, it also must use pressure to end up in proper correction, even so, the pressure may not be able to make the rail end reach the requirement of high-speed rail to rail straightness(0.1mm/m). The stretch straightening process is the process of applying more than the rail straightening on both ends of the rail.
