How to Judge Whether the Steel Rail is Scrapped

As we all know, steel rail is an indispensable part of railway track, used to withstand the heavy pressure of wheels, it is specially used to manufacture heavy rail, light rail, crane rail and contact rail steel. The steel rail for railway must ensure the continuity of the railway track and the quality of the rail itself. The quality of the it affects the operation and safety of the railway track. Therefore, the rail is very important in the railway. This is the reason why many railway workers often check the rail on the railway track. Only by regularly inspecting and maintaining the rails can the normal operation of the railway be guaranteed and the personal safety of passengers. The used rails must be replaced in time. So how do we judge whether the steel rail for railway are scrapped?

1. Because the rail needs to withstand the pressure, friction and impact load of the locomotive, it requires sufficient strength, hardness and toughness, and high quality requirements. Therefore, the rails that have been severely rusted or have dark internal injuries, and those that have reached the standard for serious injuries should be eliminated immediately.

2. If the damaged part of each rail is less than eight meters, and cannot be treated by welding and short rails, it needs to be scrapped.

3. The side loss exceeds the railway grade two regulations and cannot be adjusted for use.

4. The last is the steel rail for railway that have been eliminated with the approval of the railway department.
