How to prevent cracks in rail fishplates

Edit:Zongxiang Heavy Industry--Ethan Date:2022-11-14 14:40:11

Railways are an essential tool for our travel now. Rail Fishplates play an important role in railways. Different fishplates have different effects. Cracks often occur in the rail fishplate during use, so how can the rail fishplate prevent the occurrence of cracks?

The rail fishplate is a connecting fastener used for the connection between the track and the track, which is divided into light rail, heavy rail and crane rail. There is a screw hole in the middle of the screw hole, and the upper and lower sides along the horizontal axis of the screw hole are provided with an upper working surface contacting the lower part of the rail head, and a lower working surface contacting the upper part of the rail bottom, and the rear part of the upper working surface is upward A transition section that is higher than the rail surface is formed along the extension, and the transition section forms a bridge arch with high middle and low ends along the length of the fish plate.

1.     Decrease slip amplitude. It is to reduce the amplitude of the relative action between the rail and the fish plate. The slip amplitude can be reduced by adjusting the tightening force between the rail and the fish plate, or by improving the joint condition and reducing the impact effect.

2.     Reduce the coefficient of friction. It can be achieved through various channels, such as surface treatment, improving the surface quality of the fishplate or adding some form of intermediary to the material contact surface, etc.

3.     Reduce contact pressure. There are many factors affecting the contact pressure. Reducing the contact pressure can effectively reduce the strength of the interaction force between the rail and the fishplate. Working conditions, axle load, vehicle speed, etc. will have a greater impact on it, some of which must be endured under working conditions, such as load, vehicle speed, etc., and some can be adjusted by improving working conditions, such as maintaining appropriate good rail joints, good joint maintenance, etc. In addition, the shape of the mating surface of the rail and the fishplate will also affect the size of the contact pressure.
