Hot Rolled Round Bar

Hot rolled round steel bars are used in various applications and industries due to its malleability and formability, which results in products that are easy to work with. Hot rolled steel reconfigures itself during the cooling process, giving the finished product looser tolerances than the original material and when compared to cold rolled steel products. However, this looser tolerance makes the finished product more malleable and easier to form the metal into a variety of shapes and sizes. This makes hot rolled steel a good choice for the manufacturing of structural components.

Hot Rolled Round Bar Applications:

Round steel bars are exactly as it sounds—a long, cylindrical metal bar. Hot rolled round steel bars are more malleable and can be formed into a wide variety of shapes and sizes while maintaining excellent mechanical properties. They are used where heavy thickness, strength levels, and formability are required, which makes it an ideal choice for producing sheet metals and structural components.

Hot rolled round steel bars are measured by its diameter. They have many applications across many industries including fabrication, manufacturing, and repair. Also, it can be easily welded and drilled. Because it is a durable, ductile, and strong steel material that can be easily formed and shaped, hot rolled round bars are used in various industries, including:

Automotive, Power Generation, Construction, Distribution, Hydraulic Fittings

Heavy Trucks, Oil and Gas

Advantages:

Hot rolled steel refers to a steel-rolling process in which flat steel is rolled at extremely high temperatures that exceed the recrystallization temperature of most steels. When steel is above the recrystallization temperature, it becomes malleable and can be shaped and formed. Once heated and molded, hot rolled steel is cooled at room temperature. While this gives the finished product looser tolerances than the original material, it also makes the product free from internal stresses that may occur during heat-treatment processes such as quenching and work-hardening process. Finally, steel shrinks slightly as it cools and so there is less control over its final shape. Thus, hot rolled steel can vary in dimensional consistency and have rougher edges than cold rolled steel.
