In a significant milestone for China's railway infrastructure sector, Henan Zongxiang Heavy Industry Import & Export Co., Ltd. (ZongXiang), a leading manufacturer of rail and track accessories, has successfully exported a batch of 9,120 high-quality 9120 rail clips to Indonesia. This shipment, completed in early October 2025, underscores ZongXiang's growing influence in Southeast Asia's burgeoning railway development landscape. As Indonesia accelerates its ambitious high-speed rail and urban transit projects, demand for reliable fastening systems like these clips has surged, positioning ZongXiang as a key partner in the region's infrastructure boom.

ZongXiang, established in 1997 as the international trade arm of Zhongxiang Steel Group, has built a reputation for precision-engineered products that meet global standards. The 9120 rail clip, also known as the 9120/15/38 crane rail clip, is a specialized welded-type fastening device designed for heavy-duty applications. Crafted from high-strength steel alloys such as 50Mn or U71Mn, these clips are engineered to secure rails like the QU70, QU80, or 38kg variants against lateral forces up to 120kN (approximately 12.2 tonnes). Their adjustable design allows for seamless installation on I-beams or concrete-embedded plates, ensuring stability in demanding environments like port cranes, mining tracks, and electrified railway lines. Each clip undergoes rigorous quality checks, including tensile testing and corrosion resistance evaluations, to comply with international norms such as GB/T 2585-2007 and UIC standards.

This export order originated from a consortium of Indonesian contractors involved in the expansion of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail (KCJB) network and ancillary freight corridors. Indonesia's Ministry of Transportation has prioritized rail upgrades to support economic growth, with investments exceeding $50 billion by 2030. The 9,120 units—equivalent to securing over 10 kilometers of track—were meticulously packaged in reinforced wooden crates to withstand sea transit. Shipped from Qingdao Port via a dedicated container vessel, the consignment arrived at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta without delays, thanks to ZongXiang's proactive coordination with logistics partners and customs authorities. Pre-shipment inspections confirmed zero defects, reflecting the company's commitment to zero-tolerance quality protocols.

The deal not only boosts ZongXiang's revenue but also strengthens bilateral trade ties between China and Indonesia. In recent years, ZongXiang has ramped up Southeast Asian exports, including 20 tons of CR73 rails to Indonesia in 2024 and rail clamps to Vietnam earlier this year. These initiatives align with China's Belt and Road Initiative, fostering technology transfer and local capacity building. During virtual handover ceremonies, ZongXiang's export manager, Li Wei, emphasized, "Our 9120 clips are more than fasteners; they're the backbone of safe, efficient rail systems that propel Indonesia's connectivity goals."

For Indonesian stakeholders, the benefits are tangible. These clips offer superior fatigue resistance compared to traditional alternatives, reducing maintenance costs by up to 25% over a decade. Local engineers praised the clips' compatibility with existing 38kg rails, enabling quick retrofits on legacy lines. As one Jakarta-based project lead noted, "ZongXiang's reliability turns ambitious plans into reality." This partnership could pave the way for joint ventures, with discussions underway for on-site training programs.

Looking ahead, ZongXiang eyes further expansion. With production capacity exceeding 50,000 tons annually and a vast inventory of accessories like fishplates, spikes, and turnouts, the company is poised to capture more market share. Sustainability remains a focus; recent upgrades incorporate eco-friendly coatings to minimize environmental impact during installation. As global rail freight volumes rise—projected to hit 15 billion tons by 2027—ZongXiang's export to Indonesia signals a new chapter in resilient supply chains.

This achievement celebrates innovation and collaboration, driving progress across borders. ZongXiang invites inquiries for customized solutions, ready to rail in the future of mobility.
